Justin Bieber’s fans have caused mob scenes at his public appearances – and it’s not much different in cyberspace.
“Ladies calm down,” the teen pop star Tweeted Wednesday after discovering Kim Kardashian, whom he met at the White House Correspondents’ dinner, had been receiving death threats from overzealous fans who were unhappy about their new friendship.
Why the Twitter freakout?
It started when the reality star, 29, encountered Bieber, 16, at the Washington, D.C., bash Saturday and later proclaimed on her Twitter page that she “officially [had] Bieber Fever!!!”
Worse for Bieber’s fans: the photographic evidence of their meeting. (Plus, Bieber’s caption “Look it’s my girlfriend,” probably didn’t help things.)
“I’m getting death threats,” Kardashian Tweeted to Bieber on Tuesday night. “This is unBeliebable!!!”
The singer quickly took matters into his own hands, assuring fans that the Keeping Up with the Kardashians star was not the object of his affection. Bieber Tweeted that Kim is “a very sexy friend but a friend. No need 4 threats. Let’s all be friends and hang out often.”
